Craze

A widespread, short-lived fashion or fad
as a specific dance, toy, or diet.

A fine network of tiny cracks
in a coating, paint, or ceramic glaze.

To drive someone mad or insane,
or to cause a surface like
lightning waves run in the night sky.

That emphasize an intense, high-energy
wave of popularity.

Whatever craze is the term for
what is currently accepted or popular.

A massive, short-lived wave
of enthusiasm for something.

You call whatever it
defined whatever it may be,
every new invention is born in
a "craze" of the mind.

The Silent Magnetism of Calm Souls

`

They do not roar to prove their worth,
Or crowd the spaces of the earth;
They filter thought before they speak,
In gentle tones, serene and meek.
A raised-up voice they do not need,
For quiet truth is where they lead.

They do not live for hollow praise,
Or stage the drama of their days;
While others sprint to show and tell,
They tend the garden of their well.
They find a wealth that cannot break
In harmony and peace they make.

With careful steps, they walk the floor,
And never push a heavy door;
They ask of life a simple art:
To leave no bruise upon a heart.
To heal a fracture, calm a fright,
And step through darkness with a light.

In chaotic winds that pull and strain,
They are the shelter from the rain.
For power does not need to shout—
It is the flame that stays the doubt.
And in their presence, we find room
To watch our own quiet spirit bloom.

Tightening

If something is bearing and moving,
trend is to turn the wrench
and tighten further,
to make it firm and fixed.
In life it's the same too.
But
in both the cases
break point exists,
anyway shall bear it.

The Twilight

The dusk
painting my own
shadow very large,
at my feet.
The sun
is setting down,
dipping in the evening
darker.
The Shadow will disappear
in the dark.

True Wavy Black

Nourished with a few drops
of natural coconut oil
truly black stood in rows
like an obedient army

Young school days
fear of white coat and cane
had a little choice
trim down to carpet clean

Stepping into the race
crafting my own boat
sailing upstream
was the spring had wavy

Soon came the long summer
in the land where even native dates palm
roots stood in cool while heads burning
default, crew cut

Unwelcome falls appeared quick
treated seawater and harsh weather
influenced, no choice for a young
on one war of many fronts

Time has flown away fast
leaving me in the long summer
uncontrollable lifeless gray
peeping all over

It’s obvious, eyeball rollover
my bald and my NIC
sure no winter, not again
for my wavy hair...

The Journey

On verdant leaf, a strange spot's birth
A tiny mark, of life and mirth
It spreads its hue, like morning dew
And turns the green, to yellow anew

The leaf, once full, now withers slow
As if the sap, began to flow
In reverse, a tale of woe
As nature's beauty, starts to go

The tree, above, with sorrow's sigh
Watches its child, begin to die
It weeps, in silence, tears of pain
For life's brief span, and fleeting gain

The wind whispers secrets, as it blows
Of life's transience, and nature's woes
The leaf, now yellow, starts to fall
And with it, memories, of life's call

What’s Packed in a Seed?

Strong bark, many branches,
Velvet soft or harsh buds and many leaves,
Smooth, fragrant and nectar filled flowers,
May be thorns too, but to protect them,
How all those are packed in a small seed?
Amazing!
But, to know what it brings that
shall be planted,
grow with strong roots,
span of time
and go through many phases,
to stand tall and reap fruits.
Sure, they give you
priceless breathing air
since they span their arms with love,
tiny green leaves.

Where Fair, Free and Justice is Found?

Not in places
where preaches, sermons, chants are common,
Not under roof of institutions
dedicated to ensure,
But only one place where
Fair, Free and Justice
is found in,
dear dictionary,
please preserve those for
a reasonable time
to come.

Nature’s Treat

Dark clouds travels fast.
Oh! What a pleasant mild blow.
The dance gathering in, move a way fast,
is it a flock dance, but beautiful.
Clock yet to reach five.
Stage sky high, background was dark
where range of lights offered by the nature.
Wind catches the rhythm, tall trees in join the chorus.
Stage turn darker.
White beauties with slim brown body
fly in like a row of angles
moving around and around
quick and fast,
doubt any ballerina could do.

Oh, wind turned harsh,
clouds may be sad, in tears
sudden turn to downpour.
Where did those softy angels hide?

What a beautiful nature’s treat?
Cracked open thick nut shell,
set them free.
May be they are in their journey to grow tall.

Life Pulls Back

Life pulls back,
Not knowingly soul is a bow.
Never mind,
shall stretch back
not one, but two or more inches.
To shoot arrows forward.
But do not break me, the bow!

Congratulating Cricket

The game is so called gentleman’s
Battle in the middle of green is the beauty
Decreed that cricket would be played in a gentlemanly manner
Tourney is to attain the title World Championship
Of course competition is fiery
No matter what, game shall be the game with its scent and beauty

Let me congratulate Team Australia
For winning World Cricket Championship 2023
For classy display of the final game
That defeating shameless wrong doings throughout the tourney,
shocking blind, deaf and toothless game’s governing body
and its mockery in front of money vested bully

The winning may
restore and save the beauty in cricket
send many devils out
mark the end of International Cricketing Crooks
bring back gentlemen to
govern the International Cricket

Elasticity

Stretch, that stretches
Release the force, reshapes
But excessive force
that would worn,
Not elastic anymore...

Young Son

It’s the same
dining table and chairs
where two of you were
in a competition
who would sit next to
mum or dad,
today those are empty and idle.

Wider shoulders, tall young
you, our little boy
following the big brother
to dive in the ocean
of knowledge
pick the pearl best.

My dear son
life is a journey
not a destination
compel to move
one point to another
forward and wise.

We know that very well
but, every meal we serve our self
your mum’s eyes are heavy
hope you are fine there.
Remember the goal and beyond,
wish you all success,
we have a dream,
dream to success!

Note:

An attempt to get into shoes of our very close family friends at time their young son flown away to attend his overseas college. They, dear, caring brother, sister and two young boys are very special to us, I have no words to describe their bond for years whatever season of our lives.

Horizon

Far, very far
sky bends down, to kiss the ocean
Fatigue Sun at day end
paints there beautiful
I paddle, paddle with my pen
reaching there, ambitious
Singing birds fly over me
light and happy
Where are they heading?
Are they too
in search of the horizon...

Broken

Kid with his coloring book and pastels
Asking for colors he should use…
My dear,
Piece of chocolate is chocolate brown
Strawberry is strawberry red
Don’t you remember?
But blueberry is purple in color
Oranges of ours are green
Imported are orange color
You know…

Kid sorting out tiny color pastels
Puzzled look in his face
Aren’t colour, taste and smell of
slab of chocolate
basket of fruits
faded out of his head,
make me sad.

The rupee kite climbed up
Floating high in the sky free
While mocking rulers’ blow
it high further
We continue becoming dwarfs
in front of shop display racks.

Walk in My Shoes

Before you judge or criticize me
if you can
walk a while
in my shoes,
that I would love lending,
but
bring a pair of your own socks.

Time To Show

Different wheels
the mechanism and move
may be
noisy or quiet
normal or not,
the face plate
must show
the time,
dear
thin, long and fat arms
maintain the rhythm
keep ticking
the clock…

You Beauty

Character based
Lengthy long codes
Syntax mind
Short beeps
It was the
concentration and efforts
Making sure
everything is perfect
Monochrome life...

The GUI
Sweet voice
Vibrant colors
Cool eyes
Handy tools
Made the techie life easy...

You beauty
The girl undertaken in passion
Changed my techie life
with colors and voice
I wonder how the years passed
Many ups and downs
along the road
You are the shadow always
as well lead in hard times
I admire one who
Changed my monochrome life...

Fallen Flower

Fallen Flower
Giving a company
resting on the gravestone
Where morning dew,
are they trying to provide
the cool never had
sacrificed life,
that light up many lives
Strong acid smell,
busy factory
was only the life
Is that put you
rest in peace
a fast…
